Kris and i are looking into getting a different vehicle for me, and even though there is no chance of our affording a hybrid, it's interesting to think about owning one. i found this article on Slate and thought it was interesting, but i actually also really enjoyed reading the the "Messages from the Fray" about the article.

To help you feel better in case you want a hybrid now...
I work for a mechanic, and he said that he wouldn't buy one of those for at least 5 years because there are too many bugs in them still and there's no one trained on how to fix them. Repairs will end up costing as much as the car itself!
